Tools you’ll Need

  • Adjustable Wrench: For tightening or loosening nuts and bolts.
  • Pipe Wrench: Useful for gripping and turning pipes.
  • Basin Wrench: Specifically designed for reaching and tightening the nuts under the sink.
  • Screwdrivers: Both flathead and Phillips, for removing screws.
Plumber’s Tape (Teflon Tape): To seal pipe threads and prevent leaks.
  • Bucket: To catch any water that might spill during the installation.
  • Towels or Rags: To clean up any water spills.
  • Drill and Drill Bits: If you need to create a new hole in the sink or countertop for the water filter faucet.
  • Tube Cutter or Hacksaw: For cutting the pipes or tubing to the required length.
  • Measuring Tape: To measure the space and lengths of pipes or hoses.

Step 1:

Turning off your water supply

A stopcock looks like a tap, but without an outlet spout. It will be between two lengths of pipe, acting as a connector. This allows the stopcock to block the flow of water when it’s closed off.

Here’s a list of the most likely places to find a water stopcock:

  • Under the kitchen sink
  • In the bathroom
  • Cupboard under the stair’s
  • By the gas meter
  • In a utility room
  • In a cellar
  • In a cupboard – this can be common for flats. Stopcocks can also sometimes be in communal corridors with stopcocks for other flats

Yes, you will need to turn your stop cock off the first time you install your new filter. However you will not need to do this again when you change your cartridges as we supply a isolation valve to be install alongside you new filter and this is then used then changing cartridges.

Maintenance

After installing the filter, perform a final check to ensure all fittings are connected and tightened correctly. Make sure the new isolation and wastewater valves are in the off position. It’s a good idea to have a second person slowly turn on the stopcock while another person checks for leaks. If no leaks are detected, run your kitchen tap with the filter still isolated to clear any air from the main system. Once the air is released from the main system, you may proceed to slowly open the filter isolation valve while continually checking for leaks. If the system is observed to be watertight, you may then turn on your filter tap.

You can adjust the Tee-junction valve to control water flow rates based on your water pressure. If the pressure is too strong, please decrease it. The longer the water travels through the machine, the better the water quality. Run your filter tap for ten minutes before first use, while continually observing the newly installed pipework for leaks

The removal rate of limescale will gradually decrease as it is used and may vary depending on the hardness of the water.

We will send you a reminder but in general:

  • PP/Polypropylene filter – 6-8 month
  • Activated Carbon filter 6 months
  • UF/Ultrafiltration 12 months

NOTE: After replacing a cartridge run the tap for 2-4 mins to flush filters before your use.

It’s recommended to flush the filter through the wastewater outlet (located in the parts identification section below) for three minutes once a week.

Flushing the system every week is to keep the cartridges healthy and lasting longer.
